Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield Announced For Nintendo Switch

Nintendo dropped news of a brand new Pokemon focused Direct livestream less than a day ago and it’s finally here. To no one’s surprise, it is indeed a brand new generation of monster catching & taming once again helmed by the series veteran Game Freak for development.

Set in an industry-driven Galar region, Pokemon Sword & Pokemon Shield bring the 8th Gen to Nintendo’s latest hybrid console. The new starters include the fiery rabbit Scorbunny, grassy chimp Grookey and cool lizard Sobble.

Graphically, even though the game continues the art design from Pokemon X & Y, the environment has never looked more beautiful, with effects like improved lighting and more realistic material effects – all thanks to the more modern tech boasted by the Switch.

It’s set for a simultaneous worldwide release in late 2019. Stay tuned for more details about the newest entries on Switch, with a promise of more Pokemon goodness in development by the devs.
