2015 was a big year for blockbuster AAA releases that are talked about to this day, yet one game seemed to have slid back into the shadows: Techland’s Dying Light. While this “Dead Island x Mirror’s Edge” hybrid was popular enough to set in motion a 2020 sequel (which has now been infinitely delayed), the devs continue to support the game.
Out of the blue, Techland announced that their Viral Rush event will be live over the weekend and end on Monday, 27th April, 2020. The challenge? Face off against hordes of Virals (aggressive rabid zombies that are nearly as fast as the player) as you parkour and slay your way across the open world of Harran. Meanwhile the rewards are as follows (which we did obtain after beating the event):
- Global goal: 3 King weapon mods for every player
- Personal bounty (kill100 Virals): Deadeye Bow
Of course if you’re not interested in the event, then you can turn off community event participation from Options in the main menu. Happy hunting!
